DESCRIPTION
Furpocalypse is seeking a Video Lead for Main Events! The Video Lead is responsible for planning, organizing, and operating the Main Events video operations throughout the convention. Furpocalypse is a non-profit organization, this is an unpaid volunteer position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the Main Events Director and members of the Main Events team to provide video support for the convention.
  • Be capable of managing a team, setting and sticking to deadlines, and work/interact with attendees and staff in a professional manor.
  • Operate various aspects of the video rig during live shows.
  • Interact directly with staff, presenters, and guests to assess needs and feedback.
  • Not only help design and create show content but also have a desire to innovate by brainstorming new and exciting ways to improve the video rig as a whole.
  • Maintain quality control through impeccable attention to detail.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE
Applicants should ideally have experience working in a live event or broadcast environment with ample knowledge of video equipment including professional switchers, cameras, projectors, video signal flow, and various other aspects of broadcast video production.

Professional experience is not required, but a willingness to learn and work as a member of a team is.

DESCRIPTION
Furpocalypse is seeking a Live Stream Technician for Main Events! Stream Techs are responsible for setting up, maintaining, and operating live streaming encoders throughout the convention. Furpocalypse is a non-profit organization, this is an unpaid volunteer position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the Video Lead, Technical Director and members of the Main Events team to provide live stream support for the convention.
  • Operate Wirecast during live shows.
  • Setup and maintain RTMP streaming to a variety of potential sources including YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, and Custom Servers.
  • Understand basic networking, audio, and video workflow.
  • Maintain quality control through impeccable attention to detail.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE
Applicants should ideally have experience working in a live event or broadcast environment with ample knowledge of Wirecast, Mac/Windows computers, and live streaming solutions.

Professional experience is not required, but a willingness to learn and work as a member of a team is.

Furpocalypse is seeking a Graphics Operator for Main Events! Graphics Ops are responsible for organizing, maintaining, and operating presentation and video content playback during events throughout the convention. Furpocalypse is a non-profit organization, this is an unpaid volunteer position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the Creative Department and members of the Main Events team to provide graphics support for the convention.
  • Operate PowerPoint/Keynote/QLab/Millumin/Playback Pro during live shows.
  • Interact directly with staff, presenters, and guests to assess content needs and feedback.
  • Not only create show graphics but also have a desire to innovate by brainstorming new and exciting ways to display content.
  • Maintain quality control through impeccable attention to detail.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE
Applicants should ideally have experience working in a live event or broadcast environment with ample knowledge of Adobe Software, industry standard playback and presentation software, and Mac/Windows computers.

Professional experience is not required, but a willingness to learn and work as a member of a team is.

Furpocalypse is seeking Camera Operators for Main Events! Camera Ops are responsible for operating a variety of technical equipment including single and multiple portable, remote-control and electronic cameras and mobile mountings. Furpocalypse is a non-profit organization, this is an unpaid volunteer position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assembling and setting up equipment.
  • Planning, preparing and rehearsing shots.
  • Following camera scripts.
  • Creatively framing and capturing action.
  • Responding quickly to directions.
  • Liaising with lighting and technical staff.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE
Applicants should ideally have experience working in a live event or broadcast environment with ample knowledge of the operation of broadcast level cameras and equipment.

Professional experience is not required, but a willingness to learn and work as a member of a team is.

We are looking for a self-driven individual to lead our video gaming department. A video gaming enthusiast with knowledge of multiple gaming platforms and games is preferred but it is not required. Furpocalypse is a non-profit organization, this is an unpaid volunteer position.

You will be responsible for managing the video gaming department and staff. The job will entail:

  • Creating the game room schedule for the convention.
  • Organizing and/or overseeing tournaments.
  • Handling the intake and return of donated equipment and games.
  • Promoting the video game room and it’s events through our social media department.
  • Scheduling team members and volunteers to staff the video game room during the convention.
  • Working with other department heads and staff as needed for cross department events and promotions.

Furpocalypse is seeking friendly and helpful individuals to assist in providing answers and excellent customer service for attendees and to communicate with other departments to meet convention-wide goals. You will be working with the Volunteer Coordination/Hospitality/Con Ops teams. We are looking for additional staff members during this transitional period to help accomplish tasks as we continue to grow. Furpocalypse is a non-profit organization, this is an unpaid volunteer position.

We are Looking for and individual with the following skills:

  • Communication skills.
  • Ability to keep detailed notes.
  • Able to stand for extended periods time.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with attendees.
  • Flexible scheduling.
  • Working alongside other departments and staff as needed for cross departmental communication.
  • Can work independently as needed to achieve departmental and convention wide goals.

DESCRIPTION

Furpocalypse is seeking a graphics department team member with passion in the anthropomorphic community and who is hype-driven to help support our event. The art department is a highly collaborative group where everyone is equally committed to working our theme into everything we make. Furpocalypse is a non-profit organization, this is an unpaid volunteer position.

We are Looking for and individual with the following skills:

  • Must be experienced in a variety of creative softwares which may include, but is not limited to: Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects, Premiere, InDesign, and other comparable programs.
  • Able to provide and respond to critique/criticism well. You'll be part of a highly collaborative team committed to creating a cohesive visual experience for the con!
  • Must be able to work well on tight deadlines. Most projects you'll be able to work at your own pace, but we also need to know we can count on you for a fast turnaround when it's crunch time!
  • Does your passion and creativity shine through on your portfolio/reel? (did we mention we want to see your previous work? Because we totally do!) we want to see what you can bring to the table!
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in a multimedia/design/similar field is preferred, but if you can really wow us with your work and determination then we'd love to work with you.
  • Can work independently as needed to achieve departmental and convention wide goals.
  • Probably MOST OF ALL, must be eager to join a collaborative creative think-tank/powerhouse and get excited about turning the con's theme into an immersive visual experience in all the media you help create!
